Menekse-Pansy double ebru

Double ebru or layered, meaning the blue bubbly background was done first left to dry and then the pansy/menekşe flower ebru applied second.

All of my marbling artwork is created using traditional Turkish Ebru techniques.

The piece is painted onto an aqueous surface using various brushes and tools and then captured on paper.

In Europe known as marbling

It takes acute concentration and each peace must be finished without pause, it is a kind of meditation....and i love it.

Because you work on water there is an element of randomness which means every piece is truly unique and impossible to replicate.

I make all my own paint and brushes from raw materials i get off a great little ebru supplier in İstanbul.
